Screen Addiction

By far one of the fastest growing addictions in our culture today is screen and gaming addiction. This can include social media, Discord, Youtube, etc. This behavioral addiction is one of the most difficult behaviors for parents to grab control of because technology is so ingrained in our society. Helping your child create boundaries and find balance can be challenging, but is essential to overcoming unhealthy screen dependence.

Symptoms of screen addiction include: excessive screen use, sleep deprivation, neglect of basic drives and duties, social isolation, decline in academic performance, dishonesty, denial, increase in stress and social anxiety.
