Hannah Hanson, MSW, ASW
Hannah Hanson is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW 115333) committed to working with individuals with varying backgrounds and experiences and supporting them in their goals toward overall well-being. Hannah has training and experience working with adolescents and adults with various presenting concerns and goals.
Hannah received her bachelor’s degrees in psychology and behavioral sciences: sociology from Concordia University, Irvine, where she also competed as a student-athlete on the track and field team. It was through her personal experiences and her involvement as an athlete that drove Hannah toward a career and education in mental health. Hannah’s experience as a college athlete and being an athlete for most of her early life brought light to the need for greater attention to athlete’s mental health. Hannah recognizes the need for mental health advocacy and presence for athletes and has a passion for serving those individuals who are in that unique experience of athletics.
After attending Concordia University Irvine and concluding her time as a college athlete, Hannah then went on to complete her master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice. She completed her graduate school internships at Hardy Williams High School in Philadelphia where she worked with middle and high school students as an in-school therapist, and at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania where she worked as a postpartum social worker that emphasized women’s mental health.
Since graduating and obtaining her associate license as a social worker, Hannah has been working and gaining experience as a therapist within the school setting as a middle school mental health therapist as well as working with clients within a practice setting. Hannah has experience in various therapeutic modalities and approaches and can apply her knowledge and experience to best support her clients. Hannah is passionate about her work as a therapist and understands the power of collaboration and empathy in a client’s work toward a greater well-being and life.
